Crafting in 15: A letter and a verse

A letter and a verse cover.jpg

I've told you how I am the least crafty person on the planet. And I am hoping some of you feel my pain. My hot glue gun induced pain.

I decided to make my boys some letters to hand on their doors.

I picked up these wooden letters at my local Hobby Lobby a couple weeks ago.

They were only $3.49 and I got an "R" for our big boy and an "I" for our new baby.

I got some acrylic paint for $.75. I got blue for the R and red for the I.

In five minutes flat I had them both painted.

Cute, right? I got a paint pen for $2 and wrote my boy's birthday (11-11-11) and a the reference to a special Bible verse.

Before my oldest boy was born I started praying and asking that God would lead me to a bible verse that I could pray over him.

This one became very special to me: He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge;his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. Psalm 91:4.

My mother painted this verse on a canvas for our sweet boy's nursery and it was in the delivery room when he was born.

Of course our second sweet boy doesn't have a "birthday" yet and I am still praying about a verse for his letter.

Now I just have to hang them on the door.

Hanging letters are a great and cheap way to punch up a door or hallway. I mean just look at all the options on Pinterest!
